The Beauty to Be a Women

THE REAL BEAUTY OF A WOMAN
A woman was asked, what she used to make her complexion so beautiful, and her whole being so bright and attractive. Her answer changed everything and changed all the people around her thinking of women changed.
  • She answered:
  • I use for my lips, Truth
  • I use for my voice, Kindness
  • I use for my ears, Compassion
  • I use for my hands, Charity
  • I use for my figure, Uprightness
  • I use for my heart, Love
  • I use for any who do not like me, Prayer.”

When God made a woman, so changed the world.
Woman give that softness to anything. A child can run to a woman and all the tears will be gone. A woman have the ability to heal where others hurt. The softness of a woman’s touch can solve many problems, heart braking problems. God tuse woman to be mothers. Women can bear pain better than men. The role of a mother is probably the most important career a woman can have. Motherhood is the most important of all the professions, requiring more knowledge than any other department in human affairs. Your mother can be your best friend, sometimes your only friend, she will always listen. A mother will always be there for you, no matter what. A mother will never ask you to pay you back for everything that she had done for you in life. She always see the best in you. She will give her life for you. She is the one everybody can count on for the things that matters the most.

This is a Tribute to mother and women

STAY HEALTHY AND YOUNG

Top 5 Tips in Ayurveda to Stay Healthy and Young

In Ayurveda, there are some simple tips which when followed can help you stay healthy and young, with no much big effort but through Ayurveda. The following needs to be done in order, soon as you get off the bed in the morning.

Cleaning the face:

One should wash one’s face with water on a regular basis. This helps in cleaning of the dirt accumulated on the face during night and gives freshness thereby which you stay healthy. Preferably cold water needs to be used, but during winter luke-warm water also may do the trick.

Protecting Eyesight:

After washing the face, one should take a mouthful of water, keep the mouth closed and keeping the eyes open as far as possible, sprinkle freshwater over the eyes. This is very useful for preserving your coveted eyesight. Once this is over, your eyelids should be gently rubbed and a tender massage should be given to the eyeballs.

Drink a Glass of Water:

One should also make it a practice to drink a glass of water early in the morning. This helps to tone your excretory system effectively. Although tea is good for antioxidants, its not advisable to have them before evacuation of bowels. Taking tea on bed may develop constipation later on - as it being hot stimulates intestines to such an extent that many layers of intestines get damaged, so watch out!

Cleaning your mouth:

Although you may have several tooth pastes and gargle fluids, for a healthy life Ayurveda suggests usage of twig of neem or babool.

Application of Til Oil:

One who applies til oil on the head regularly, never suffers from complaints such as headaches, baldness or graying of hair - hair remains black and are deep-rooted.

FUEL FILLING TIPS

Tips on Filling your Vehicles...

This is a Message received from a friend: -Thanks to Gokila.

I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol...
but here in Durban, we are also paying higher, up to 47.35 per liter.
But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every liter. Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban, we deliver about 4 million liters in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.

One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 liters.

ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE
EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD.

Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your liter is not exactly a liter.

In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A

1degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps..

WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE
TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE.

If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor.

Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP
WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL.

The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every liter is actually the exact amount.

ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK
PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY,

DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.
Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your Money.

DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS! LET’S SHARE
INFORMATION AND BENEFIT ALL, FOR THE BETTER OF MANKIND.

GREEN LIVING

The whole world today is talking about carbon credit?
( Than, what is carbon Debit? if any ideas write back to me)...
i need to add these 12- points here to enhance the corbon credit..
Not alone that "The energy saved is equal to the energy that produced".

We have to show our love and gratitude to our ancient/fore fathers who saved this planet earth for us,by various means right from the vedic period(eg- Agnigothra) to till today. we could live with better conveniences today..because of them...but on the other hand we are not aware/Less aware about the environment and its increasing pollutions .

What we are going to offer for our forth coming generation? we must be aware about all pollutants which spoil our environment and learn how to eradicate these pollutants from our day to day life and have a better quality living free from all diseases and leaving the earth more greenary to the generation who is going to come. That is my concern to pass these unto each one of you..hoping you will also acknowledge and pass this to many people as you can.

12 - Practical Tips for a Green living

1. Turn off the lights when you leave the room.

Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need. And remember to turn off your television, video player, stereo and computer when you’re not using them.

2. Turn off the computer when possible

Don’t get me wrong, there is no need to turn the computer off every time you go to the bathroom. If you know that you will be away for four hours or more, however, turning it off could result in significant savings over the long run.

3. Print only when necessary

Sure, reading on paper might be more comfortable, but you should avoid printing those two-lines emails every single time. Read it on the screen and print only necessary documents. Remember also to use both sides of the sheet.

4. Use fluorescent lamps

Incandescent light bulbs use five times more energy than fluorescent ones and last ten times less. The fluorescent lamps cost more on the stores, but within one you should have already recovered the investment. Even the LED Bulbs will add greater energy savings and less emissions.

5. Use cold water as much as possible

In India, we prefer to use air-conditioners to cool our homes and offices but use hot water for showers and dish washing - strange. Use cold water as much as possible, insulate your hot water heater and unplug appliances when they’re not in use.

6. Reduce Water Consumption

To reduce your water consumption, keep faucets on low pressure with cold water as much as possible, turn off the faucet while you brush your teeth or shave, and run full loads of dishes and laundry on a short cycle with low water levels.

7. Go digital

Cancel your paper newspaper and magazine subscription and go online for the digital editions. Use your iPod for news, music and video downloads.

8. Think eco-friendly

There are many other environmentally friendly tips you can incorporate into your lifestyle as well. For example, choose non-toxic, environmentally friendly household products as much possible, try eating and gardening organically, use natural body products, pick up trash outside as you’re walking and give creative, eco-friendly gifts that don’t come in wrapping or packages.

9. Reuse everything

Change your mind-set and think twice before throwing anything out. Resealable plastic bags that held carrots today can hold crayons tomorrow. Mom might just like that cashmere sweater you’re sick of wearing. And Fido doesn’t know the difference between a new chew toy and the one you make yourself out of old dish towels. Donate your old cell phones - One person’s trash can be another persons treasure, learn more at www.freecycle.org

10. Drive Less and Drive Smart

Less driving means fewer emissions. Besides saving gasoline, walking and biking are great forms of exercise. Explore your community’s mass transit system, and check out options for carpooling to work or school. Pausing somewhere? Shut down your engine: Idling for any length of time burns more gas than it takes to restart the car. Speeding, fast accelerations, and hard braking waste gas. Maintaining your car saves it. Tune up your car according to your owner’s-manual schedule (usually every 30,000 miles) and raise your car’s fuel efficiency anywhere from 4 to 40 percent.

11. Bring your own bags to the market

Avoid taking plastic bags for purchases from the supermarkets and while shopping. Reduce plastic garbage. Stash some canvas/cloth bags in your car. Avoid products that come with excess packaging, especially molded plastic and other packaging that can’t be recycled. If you reduce your house hold garbage by 10 percent, you can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.

12. Plant a Tree

If you have the means to plant a tree, start digging. During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. They are an integral part of the natural atmospheric exchange cycle here on Earth, but there are too few of them to fully counter the increases in carbon dioxide caused by automobile traffic, manufacturing and other human activities. A single tree will absorb approximately one ton of carbon dioxide during its life time.

Above all keep your environment clean just by doing Nothing???
One may be surprised,
how Doing nothing and keep/maintain our environment clean and neat?
it is very much possible & The technique is very simple too...

"DO NOT THROW ANY THING ANY WHERE "
"BY DOING NOTHING..YOU CAN KEEP YOUR ENVIRONMENT CLEAN."

THE WORLD IS BECOMING UNSAFE

The World is getting very unsafe

Please find below a mail from Mr.. Rahul Welde,
General Manager- Hindustan Unilever –Media Services
who was holed up in his room at the Taj hotel on the night of the terrorist attack.

Fortunately he managed to escape…this mail is quite insightful and would like to pass on to all, especially people who travel.

Please read this and apply if you can….this can happen to anyone at any point of time…

Subject: Lucky to have survived ; Living in good shape

I wont go much into details of what happened that night.
To cut the long story short -

I was holed up in my room at the Taj hotel the fateful night of the terrorist attack.
Managed to escape by the skin of my teeth at around 4 am - in sheer denial of allowing fire and smoke to swallow me.

By gods grace I managed to make the run down 6 floors and some few metres without the devil in my way.

I thought I'd leave a few messages which might be of help to all good people.

In the modern day world, risks are a plenty. Terrorists, tsnunamis, earthquakes - the list can go on.

None of these check on your profile, company, religion, class or seniority when they hit.

They just hit. And we know now it can happen anywhere.

Here are a few things we could all do to keep it safer and better.

Firstly, value your family and friends.

Two things I strongly recommend you check one.

1.Make sure you are covered well by insurance.

Even if you are well off - leave them better off if the unfortunate were to happen.

2. Let them know details on things like bank accounts, investments etc. Keep a folio with your spouse and close family.

3. Use every waking moment to cherish what you have - family, friends, nature. Stay smiling, laughing and caring.

Admittedly these are not things I thought about deeply till now.

I shudder at the thought of what if. Lets move from the philosphical to the more practical. There are a few lessons that I want to share

1. When in a hotel or a new place - please NOTE where the FIRE EXIT is. The fire exit route saved my life. I had no clue of where it was and why I ran where I did. Why I turned left or right. Providential escape for me - nothing more. I've stayed in hotels for years and dont remember ever paying attention to this. Its a few seconds invested that can save you from big trouble.

2. Insist on taking a room in the outer periphery - where the fire brigade can reach you. My room was on the inside and I tell you what - there was no chance the fire brigade would ever reach me. They would have always been a few yards but several hours away. Ever thought of this detail.

3. A key item on your survival kit is your cellphone. I give it to Apple for developing the Iphone - a real smart gadget. Whatever your phone - a critical checkpoint is battery life. Often we wait for battery to go down before charging. Dont ! Keep it full charge all the time. All the SMSes saved my senses and maybe even my life.

4. I learnt for the first time that when running through fire and/or smoke - run bending down and wrap a wet blanket around. I did that thanks to a friend who advised me. Its a different story I chucked the blanket thinking that the cops would gun me down mistaking me for a terrorist. Good tip nevertheless.

5. Dont miss the aspect of staying fit - in running shape. Can help you and maybe even you can help someone.

Last few days I have heard/read a lot about peace marches and candles and politician bashing and police bashing and whatever else. I am sure a lot of energy will go in all that. Having been there I can only say that every soul - the cop, the fireman, the medico and even the common man on the street was doing the best he could. I dont blame anyone. I am sure good will prevail over evil in the long term. The short term blips we cannot avoid.

I have a lot to say and yet not much more. God is the greatest and leads to the ultimate destiny. I am thankful for all that has been and all that there is now.

Happy to be writing to you and wish you and the family best for times ahead.RegardsRahul[Courtesy:-OLI VIMALA ]

MOST POWERFUL WOMEN OF THE WORLD

#1 Angela Merkel Chancellor
Country : Germany

Merkel is growing increasingly comfortable with using her clout. She recently urged China to respect the rules of international trade during a three-day trip to the country, a visit that sought to improve trade ties between the world's third and fourth largest economies. Merkel said she raised the issues of human rights, trade, environmental protection and China's rampant copyright piracy. During her second G-8 summit, Merkel got the disparate parties to stick to the agenda: combating climate change and poverty. As rotating head of the European Union, Merkel lead the way in forging a new European treaty to govern the often-unruly 27-member bloc. Domestically, despite raising taxes (at a time when countries increasingly enact pro-growth flat taxes), Merkel recently captured a 75% approval rating, partly due to a five-year low in unemployment and annual GDP growth at a still healthy 3%. Lately Merkel displayed a bit of protectionist fervor when she backed Germany's plans to block takeovers of German companies by foreign government investors, a bid to stave off cash-rich Russia and China (which says it has at least $200 billion in reserves to invest worldwide). The secret to her success: "I tend not to jump to quick conclusions," she told Evelyn Roll, her biographer. "I prefer to go over things carefully to see where the traps could be lurking."--Tatiana Serafin

SHOWING OFF HAS NO USE.

Bird Dog

An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him.

He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, a pessimist by nature, and invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. They fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. The dog, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. The friend saw everything but did not say a single word.

On the drive home the hunter asked his friend,
Did you notice anything unusual about my new dog? "I am sure ,you did,"
Responded his friend. "He can't swim".

Moral: -
"Showing off brings nothing but Pride & Ego and at times nose cut like above."

PUT THE GLASS DOWN

A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see; asked the students,’
How much do you think this glass weighs?’

‘50gms!’ …. ‘100gms!’ ……’125gms’ ……the students answered.

‘I really don’t know unless I weigh it,’ said the professor,’
but, my question is:
What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?’
‘Nothing’ the students said.
‘Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour? ‘ the professor asked.
‘Your arm would begin to ache’ said one of the students.
‘You’re right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?’
‘Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress; paralysis;
Have to go to hospital for sure!’
ventured another student; all the students laughed.

‘Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change? ‘ asked The professor.
‘No’ the students said.

Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?’
The students were puzzled.
‘Put the glass down!’ said one of the students.

‘Exactly!’ said the professor.’
" Life’s problems are something like this.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head; they seem OK.
Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything. "

It’s important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but
EVEN MORE IMPORTANT to ‘put them down’
at the end of every day before you go to sleep.

That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!’

Remember to ‘PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY '.

OBAMA'S PRESIDENTIAL SPEECH

Obama’s speech:-
This is one of my favourite speechs given by U.S-President Barack Obama. This
presidential address to the citizen of his nation, is here for your attention.

My fellow citizens:
I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because we the people have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebears, and true to our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America’s decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted — for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things — some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.

For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.

For us, they toiled in sweat shops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.

For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sanh.
Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.

This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.

For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do.

Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions — who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.

What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. Those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.

Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control — and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.

As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers … our found fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience’s sake. And so to all the other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort — even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society’s ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to the suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world’s resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.

As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment — a moment that will define a generation — it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all.

For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter’s courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent’s willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate.

Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends — hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism — these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility — a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.

This is the price and the promise of citizenship.

This is the source of our confidence — the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent Mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.

So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America’s birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

“Let it be told to the future world … that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive…that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet (it).”

America, in the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless the United States of America

BANKS THAT MAKES YOU POORER?

How banks make you poorer!!

BANKS today offer a slew of services to the customer, which only seem to increase by the day. However, remember this: there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Let’s take stock of what you pay to avail of services for a typical savings bank account.

1. Non-maintenance of minimum balance
You must maintain a stipulated minimum balance in your account (Rs 1,000 for a nationalised bank, Rs 5000 for a private bank).

If you fail to maintain this average quarterly minimum balance, you attract a bank charge of Rs 750-1,500 respectively. You could also face fines for cash transactions at branches and ATMs.

2. Cheque book charges
Most nationalised banks provide chequebooks free as per your requirement. Many private ones, on the other hand, charge you Rs 50-200 per chequebook, if you use up more than 2-3 per quarter.

3. Account closure charges
Some banks charge Rs 50-200 if the account is closed before six months elapse.
Must read: Salary account: Naive outside, knotty inside

4. Charges for certificates
Unlike most nationalised banks, private banks charge Rs 50-Rs 250 for documents such as balance certificate, interest certificate, address confirmation, signature attestation, photo attestation.

5. Cheque return charges
Nationalised banks fine you Rs 50-Rs 200 in case of cheque return (due to insufficient funds, signature mismatch etc) but private ones charge you Rs 100-Rs 500

6. Cash transaction at other branches
In case of a cash transaction at a branch other than where your account is opened, 1-3 transactions are free per quarter. Beyond that, be prepared to be charged at the rate of Rs 5 per for every Rs 1000 transacted.

7. ATM charges
If you use the ATM of another back for balance enquiry or cash, you could be charged anything from Rs 10-100 per transaction.

8. Account statement
RBI directs that all banks must send free quarterly statements to their customers. Should you require more statements (in case of loss etc), you may have to pay Rs 50-500 per statement.

9. ATM or Debit Card fees
Most banks offer ATM cards free of cost but some do charge their customers for debit cards. For example, ICICI Bank provides a combo ATM/ Debit card, for which it charges Rs 99 per annum.

Over and above these, there are several other charges, such as outstation clearing charge (Rs 50- 500), pay order/ demand draft charge (based on amount), standing instruction charges, home cash delivery charges, old records retrieval charges, activation of dormant account charge etc.

Note: Visit the bank’s web site or any of the branches, for a copy of these expenses. It is mandatory for every bank to give it to you.

" TRIPLE FILTER TEST "

TRUE FRIEND
'In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem
.'
One day one fellow met the great philosopher and said,
"Do you know what I just heard about your friend?",
"Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test.

It's called the "Triple Filter Test"
"Triple filter?"."That's right,"

Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test.

The first filter is Truth - Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and...".
"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't know if it's true or not.

Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness - Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"
"No, on the contrary...". "So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though,

because there's one filter left: the filter of Usefulness -Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really."
"Well," concluded Socrates,
"if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

Story Bottom Line: -

' Well we can always participate in loose talks to curb our boredom.

But when it comes to your friends its not worth it.

Always avoid talking behind the back about your near and dear friends'.

NO SALARY INCREMENT FOR TWO YEARS - IT FIRMS!!

IT firms see low or flat salaries for two more years

Against expectations that the job market and compensation levels might begin to show signs of recovery by next year, senior executives in the country's top information technology companies expect compensation levels to remain low over the next two- to three years. "The market is cold and there are fewer jobs, for the next two or three years, salaries will be low," T.V. Mohandas Pai, member of the board and director of human resources at the nation's second largest software exporter Infosys Technologies, told Hindustan Times.

The economic slowdown has adversely affected all sectors, including information technology, which relies heavily on demand in the West, especially the United States, which is India's largest market. "Good people will not be laid off but the key challenge is compensation," Pai said.
Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest software exporter which employs over 1,00,000 people, is also eyeing a scenario where wage hikes will not be significant. "We expect salaries to remain flat in financial year 2010 while demand for specific skill sets will drive salaries over the next two-three years," a TCS spokesperson told Hindustan Times.
However, experts at staffing firms, interpreting industry statements, say IT companies probably do not want to set high expectations for their employees amidst uncertain economic conditions and that the job market might well improve by the end of the year. "We expect the market to improve by the end of the year and organisations probably do not want to raise their employees' expectations," said Rohit Ramani, director at staffing firm EmmayHR, part of the Dutch Randstad group.

LET US BE AWARE AND ALERT

DONT KNOW ABOUT ITS AUTHENTICITY, BUT BETTER BE SAFE THAN SORRYWE ALL ACCEPT CARDS WITHOUT LEAST HESITATION, ITS A BIT HARD TODIGEST THEN AGAIN, WHATS THE HARM IN PLAYING SAFE

Lets be Aware & Alert.....!!!
Warning......Share with your sisters, daughters, nieces, mothers, and female friends. This Incident has been confirmed. A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a female putting petrol in her car and left his card. She said no ,but accepted his card out of kindness and got in the car. The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time. Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realized that the odour was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the service station. She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help. The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could finally catch her breath. Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her..This drug is called 'BURUNDANGA' and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them. This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rap drug and is transferable on simple cards..So take heed and make sure you don't accept cards at any given time alone or from someone on the streets. This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services.

MOTHER TERESA

Mother Teresa of Calcutta was a Roman Catholic nun and founder of the 'Missionaries of Charity'.
In 1979 she was awarded the most prestigious prize in the world, the 'Nobel Peace Prize', for her humanitarian work. Her labor made her so worthy that, in reality, she gave honor to the prize, rather than the other way around.

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born in 1910 to Albanian parents in Skopje, which at the time was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. (The city is now the capital of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.) When she was 18, she entered the Order of the Sisters of Our Lady of Loreto in Ireland.
She trained in Dublin and in Darjeeling, India, before taking her religious vows in 1937. She took the name Teresa from Saint Teresa of Lisieux, the patron saint of foreign missionaries. In September 1946, while riding in a train from Calcutta to Darjeeling to engage in 8 days of spiritual exercises, she received a divine calling from God “to serve Him amongst the poorest of the poor”.
She served as principal of a Roman Catholic high school in Calcutta, and was moved by the presence of the sick and dying on the city’s streets. In 1948 she was granted permission to leave her post at the convent and begin a ministry among the sick. That same year she became an Indian citizen. In 1950 Mother Teresa and her associates were approved within the archdiocese of Calcutta as the Missionaries of Charity.
The order was later recognized as a pontifical congregation under the jurisdiction of Rome. Members of the congregation take four vows on acceptance by the religious community.
In addition to the three basic vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, a fourth vow is required pledging service to the poor, whom Mother Teresa described as the embodiment of Christ. In 1952 Mother Teresa opened the Nirmal Hriday (Pure Heart) Home for Dying Destitutes in Calcutta. She and her fellow nuns took in dying Indians off the streets of Calcutta and brought them to this home to care for them during the days before they died, so that they might be able to die in peace and with dignity. In serving the people abandoned by society, Mother Teresa put love into action.
Her spirit of giving inspired many to follow her, and her work eventually expanded to many other parts of the world. Today over 5000 sisters, brothers, and volunteers run approximately 500 centers worldwide, feeding 500,000 families and helping 90,000 lepers every year.
In recognition of her efforts, Mother Teresa was bestowed many awards, including the Padma Shri award for distinguished service in 1962, The Pope John XXIII Peace Prize in 1971, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1985, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 1997. Mother Teresa accepted all awards on behalf of the poor, using any money that accompanied them to fund her centers.
Mother Teresa was forced to scale back her activities in 1990 because of declining health. On March 13 1997, she stepped down as head of the order and Sister Nirmala was chosen to succeed her as leader of the Missionaries of Charity. On September 5, 1997, at the age of 87, the best loved woman of the century passed away. Her funeral service was on September 13, 1997, the 51st anniversary of her receiving her divine mission from God.

Indian Ocean to compose music for Aamir Khan venture
Popular band
Indian Ocean, which changed the course of contemporary fusion music in India with its album ‘Kandisa’, has been experimenting with Bollywood music and its latest project is in a film being produced by Aamir Khan.
“We are composing three
songs for a film which is being directed by a newcomer called Anusha and will be produced by Aamir Khan,” Amit Kilam, the group’s drummer, told us.

After receiving rave reviews for its unique style of music, Indian Ocean entered Bollywood with Anurag Kashyap’s controversial film ‘Black Friday’.

Even though the music was completely out of the league and unusual, it was highly appreciated, especially the song “Bande”.

The group is also composing music for ‘Mumbai Cutting’ and ‘Bhoomi’.

“‘Mumbai Cutting’ is a compilation of 12 short films on Mumbai and we have done one song for Anurag Kashyap’s short film,” Kilam said.

“We are also composing
music for a new film ‘Bhoomi’ currently under production. We are supposed to compose six songs for the film,” he added.

Rahul Ram anchors Indian Ocean along with Sushmit Sen on the guitars. While Asheem Chakraborty plays the tabla, the versatile Kilam accompanies on the
drums and many other forms of percussion as well as vocals.

Kilam said it was a good time to create music in Bollywood as it was going through a transitional phase and becoming more open to unconventional tunes.

“Bollywood is opening doors and using different sorts of music a lot more than before,” he said.

“Since the reach of the industry is tremendous, when Hindi films use composers like us or other young bands and young singers, then the kind of music we create has a bigger chance to reach out to more people,” Kilam added.

Indian Ocean’s genesis dates back to 1990 when it came out with its first album. In 18 years, it has brought out four albums - ‘Indian Ocean’, ‘Desert Rain’, ‘Kandisa’ and ‘Jhini’.

The band has also performed in London, at the New Zealand Arts Festival, Melbourne Arts Festival, Smithsonian Folk Life Festival (Washington), Tokyo, Indonesia,
Germany, Singapore, Italy and Dubai.

GOLD

LEARN/KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS DUCTILABLE METAL

A very ductile and malleable, brilliant yellow precious metal that is resistant to air and water corrosion. It is a precious metal that is very soft when pure (24 Kt.). Gold is the most malleable (hammerable) and ductile (able to be made into wire) metal. Gold is alloyed (mixed with other metals, usually silver and copper) to make it less expensive and harder. The purity of gold jewelry is measured in karats. Some countries hallmark gold with a three-digit number that indicates the parts per thousand of gold. In this system, "750" means 750/1000 gold (equal to 18K); "500" means 500/1000 gold (equal to 12K). Alloyed gold comes in many colors.

Indian Gold Market
Gold is valued in India as a savings and investment vehicle and is the second preferred investment after bank deposits.

India is the world's largest consumer of gold in jewellery as investment.

In July 1997 the RBI authorized the commercial banks to import gold for sale or loan to jewellers and exporters. At present, 13 banks are active in the import of gold.

This reduced the disparity between international and domestic prices of gold from 57 percent during 1986 to 1991 to 8.5 percent in 2001.

The gold hoarding tendency is well ingrained in Indian society.

Domestic consumption is dictated by monsoon, harvest and marriage season. Indian jewellery offtake is sensitive to price increases and even more so to volatility.

In the cities gold is facing competition from the stock market and a wide range of consumer goods.

43 GOLD THROUGH THE AGESThe history of gold begins in remote antiquity. But without hard archaeological evidence to pinpoint the time and place of man's first happy encounter with the yellow metal, we can only conjecture about those persons, who at various places and at different times first came upon native gold. Experts of fossil study have observed that bits of natural gold were found in Spanish caves used by the Paleolithic Man about 40,000 B.C. Consequently, it is not surprising that historical sources cannot agree on the precise date that gold was first used. One states that gold's recorded discovery occurred circa 6000 B.C. Another mentions that the pharaohs and temple priests used the relic metal for adornment in ancient Egypt circa 3000 B.C. However, it is curious to note that the early Egyptian's medium of exchange was not gold but barley. The first use of gold as money in 700 B.C. is claimed by the citizens of the Kingdom of Lydia (western Turkey). Surely, you remember the kingdom of the famous fortune seeking King Croesus - circa 550 B.C. Uses of gold Gold has been prized by people since the earliest times for making statues and icons and also for jewelry to adorn their bodies. Intricately sculptured art objects and adornment jewelry have been uncovered in the Sumerian royal Tombs in southern Iraq and the tombs of Egyptian kings. Significant buildings and religious temples and statues have been covered with thinly beaten sheets of gold. Due to its rarity, gold has long been considered a symbol of the wealth and power of its possessor. In 2001, it was estimated that 2870 tons of gold were produced worldwide. About 80 percent of that gold production was used to make jewelry, the majority of which was sold in India, Europe and the United States of America. Gold jewelry is universally popular, loved for its lustrous yellow color and untarnishing character. In many Asian countries, such as India, Thailand, and China, gold is important to religious ceremonies and social occasions, such as the Chinese New Year and Hindu marriages in India.
