LOVE LIFE

The only way to love life is to create more life,
is to make life morebeautiful, more fruitful, more juicy.
Don't leave this earth unless you have made it
a little better than you found it when you where born
-this is the only religion that I know of.
I teach you the religion of creativity.
And by creating more life,
you will be tranformed because one who can create life has already become
part of God, of Godliness.

WHAT TO CHOOSE AND WHOM TO CHOOSE?

famous poem by Robert Frost -

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could.
To where it bent in the undergrowth,

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
--I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Why to raise the 'FINANCIAL INTELIGENCE' ?

'Money Saved is Money Yarned' is very simple truth.here i would like to share my wisdom that i have learned over years after spending too much and realised recently what a fool i was...

In all my workshops, i used insist my participant only one thing , i.e.-Raise the Individual's 'Financial Quotient'-FQ.
.
Why to raise the 'FINANCIAL INTELIGENCE' ?
if the individuals are aware about this they can be free from all debt that burdens the family and their society or the nation.
.
The recession and other major financial debt burden that shook the world recently can be simply eradicated, if we all take/initiate an effort to educate the FQ among every individual including children. In my personal view, our educational system must incorporat the financial intelligence as part of the curriculam.
Our children/students need to learn this, that will enhance a better society which is free from the debt burden/recession and finacial crisis in micro and macro level.Educate your child as much as you can about FQ. So that, it will make them to minimise their expanses and they also realise the hardwork involved behind that money.
for e.g -
  • if your child ask New Pencil often... Do not simply buy an give it- Ask the old pencil, even it is very small and un-usable no problem , just collect the old one and give a new pencil. This will make your child not only financially inteligent but also as a responsible person.
  • Do not encourage them to eat more chocolates, kurekure and of that kind.it may spoil your child health and memory.

Lack of FQ Will make the individual and society sick.if one is weak financially just by his/her own inefficiency that is not only going affect that individual/person , it will affect the family and the overall society as well . (I Remember the frog storey)...
.
Why socialism in our world that failed was also because of the lacked financial intelligence of individuals during those time. These individuals who were part and collectively made a society that failed. Here 'The rich will become poorer; and the poorer become more poorer' Logically it is incorect.if the society need to be raised/uplifted,it is very much indeed to raise the 'FQ' among every individuals who is going make the society as whole ' rich and wealthy' . if this is achived than the situation is like - 'The rich will become more Richer and the poor will become Richer' it is logically a correct solution.
.
wealth can be created if one is aware and keen in attaining it.Your passion to be rich will make you rich. This is what my policy is.

' Do not catch and feed the fish to sombody;
instead teach some one HOW TO CATCH THE FISH ON THEIR OWN'

Here are the few steps , that nourishes your financial intelligence.

a. At first, Define your 'NEEDS and WANTS' . Spend within your limits.'Your expenditure must be less than your income'.[Thumb Rule]

b. Avoid Overspending and 'Pay yourself first' Atleast every month save little money of your yarnings for your ownself. e.g.- 5% to 10% of your income.

c. Carry a pocket notebook with you every where. just write down all your out flow money when ever possible. At night, spend few minutes to look out your spending...do a total spending of that particular day. Now, just make a strike mark of the unwanted spend-OUT's as per your heart and total the unwanted. just notice and be aware. ' Each penny counts '

d.Identify your money out-flow that is going for no use. for e.g.- i used to drink more tea as and when i wanted 'even i used to take tea after a meal ' which is not necessary, not only that it spoil my health. 'Underline your your unwanted-wants! '

e.when you are going out with friends be watchful about your un-necessary spending . i did'nt mean to be stingy .You can always 'spend for the need'.
e.g. - When we go to hotel we simply order many items in the menu.Afterwards... unable to consume the whole food and simply waste it. [ Do not waste food. Many people in the world die out of hunger]

f.Always save money for the future needs and for your children educational needs and medical attention.Always keep some money for emergency for the unexpected.(if you have more children have more money for emergency) 'Safety first'

g.Have a finacial forecast for daily, monthly and yearly basis. ' forsee the future '

h.Do not make any hurry burry decision as far as your money is concerned. 'Be Affirmative unto your self ' be in your balance in all situations that may insist you to make wrong financial decisions. e.g.- Investing money for unusual intrest in private fund agency or such..

i.Do not invest money ever in a single source.spilit it up your investments in fixed deposit, gold, land, stocks, etc. 'Personal portfolio is the best'

j.Avoid credit cards, if you don't know how to use it for your favour. ' Check your own credibility ' .

k.Avoid / Do not encourage friends to ask money as a loan. 'Learn how to say NO'

l.Do not avail loan for your wants, just because it is easily available. ' Un-Burden youself and be free from Debt '

m.Invest your money wisely,i mean your investments must make an additional source of income on monthly basis.'MONEY MAKES MONEY'

n.if you are using car/bike plan your travel properly.Do not go round and around, have route map to attain your destiny point as shortly as possible, that save fuel.Go by walk when you are going to near by shoping. 'Save Time and energy '

o.Have your own garden and do vegitation. if you have enough land around the house. 'Go green, support corbon credit'

p.SAVE - Water and Electricity as much as you can.
e.g.- ' SWITCH OFF ' The Monitor/Fan/Light When your are moving out of the room even for 10 minutes. You can save electricity by not using the electric heater for heating the water for bathing during summer time. ' Consume less energy Resources' .

q.Avoid Drinking/Smoking etc... to save money as well as to keep yourself healthy.'HEALTH IS WEALTH' .

r.Save money and also spend money for lifting the under-priviliged. Do charity and always be socially responsible. When you spend money for the good cause that for your society that will motivate you to make more money. 'MONEY SPEND IS MONEY YARNED' .

Note-*The Bold and Italic quotes within the 'Quotation' will be explained in detail latter on.*

Beautiful moments of the Past that Enrich us today and ever,as we recall.

It was probably the April of 1974. Bangalore was getting warm and Gulmohars were blooming at the IISc campus. I was the only girl in my postgraduate department and was staying at the ladies’ hostel. Other girls were pursuing research in different departments of Science.I was looking forward to going abroad to complete a doctorate in Computer science. I had been offered scholarships from Universities in the US . I had not thought of taking up a job in India .One day, while on the way to my hostel from our lecture-hall complex, I Saw an advertisement on the notice board. It was a standard job-requirement notice from the famous automobile company Telco (now Tata Motors). It stated that the company required young, bright engineers, hardworking and with an excellent academic background, etc.At the bottom was a small line: “Lady candidates need not apply.”I read it and was very upset. For the first time in my life I was up against gender discrimination.Though I was not keen on taking up the job, I saw it as a challenge. I Had done extremely well in academics, better than most of my male peers. Little did I know then that in real life academic excellence is not enough to be successful. After reading the notice I went fuming to my room. I decided to inform The topmost person in Telco’s management about the injustice the company was perpetrating. I got a postcard and started to write, but there was a problem: I did not know who headed Telco.I thought it must be one of the Tatas. I knew JRD Tata was the head of The Tata Group; I had seen his pictures in newspapers actually, Sumant Moolgaokar was the company’s chairman then). I took the card, addressed It to JRD and started writing. To this day I remember clearly what I wrote.“The great Tatas have always been pioneers. They are the people who Started the basic infrastructure industries in India , such as iron and steel, chemicals, textiles and locomotives. They have cared for higher Education in India since 1900 and they were responsible for the establishment of the Indian Institute of Science. Fortunately, I study there. But I am surprised how a company such as Telco is discriminating on the basis of gender.”I posted the letter and forgot about it. Less than 10 days later, I received a telegram stating that I had to appear for an interview at Telco’s Pune facility at the company’s expense. I was taken aback by the telegram. My hostel mate told me I should use the opportunity to go to Pune free of cost and buy them the famous Pune saris for cheap! I collected Rs 30 each from everyone who wanted a sari. When I look back, I feel like laughing at the reasons for my going, but back then they seemed good enough to make the trip.It was my first visit to Pune and I immediately fell in love with the city.

To this day it remains dear to me. I feel as much at home in Pune as I do in Hubli, my hometown. The place changed my life in so many ways. As directed, I went to Telco’s Pimpri office for the interview. There were six people on the panel and I realised then that this was serious business.“This is the girl who wrote to JRD,” I heard somebody whisper as soon as I entered the room. By then I knew for sure that I would not get the job.The realisation abolished all fear from my mind, so I was rather cool while The interview was being conducted.Even before the interview started, I reckoned the panel was biased, so I told them, rather impolitely, “I hope this is only a technical interview.”They were taken aback by my rudeness, and even today I am ashamed about My attitude. The panel asked me technical questions and I answered all of them. Then an elderly gentleman with an affectionate voice told me, “Do you Know why we said lady candidates need not apply? The reason is that we have never employed any ladies on the shop floor. This is not a co-ed college; this is a factory. When it comes to academics, you are a first ranker throughout. We appreciate that, but people like you should work in research laboratories. “I was a young girl from small-town Hubli. My world had been a limited place. I did not know the ways of large corporate houses and their difficulties, so I answered, “But you must start somewhere, otherwise no woman will ever be able to work in your factories.”Finally, after a long interview, I was told I had been successful. So This was what the future had in store for me. Never had I thought I would Take up a job in Pune. I met a shy young man from Karnataka there, we became good friends and we got married. It was only after joining Telco that I realized who JRD was: the Uncrowned king of Indian industry. Now I was scared, but I did not get to meet him till I was transferred to Bombay .
One day I had to show some reports to Mr Moolgaokar, our chairman, who we all knew as SM. I was in his office on The first floor of Bombay House (the Tata headquarters) when, suddenly JRD walked in. That was the first time I saw “appro JRD”. Appro means “our” in Gujarati. This was the affectionate term by which people at Bombay House called him.I was feeling very nervous, remembering my postcard episode. SM Introduced me nicely, “Jeh (that’s what his close associates called him), this Young woman is an engineer and that too a postgraduate. She is the first woman to work on the Telco shop floor.” JRD looked at me . I was praying he would not ask me any questions about my interview (or the postcard that preceded it).Thankfully, he didn’t. Instead, he remarked. “It is nice that girls are getting into engineering in our country. By the way, what is your name?”“When I joined Telco I was Sudha Kulkarni, Sir,” I replied. “Now I am Sudha Murthy.” He smiled a kindly smile and started a discussion with SM. As for me, I almost ran out of the room.

After that I used to see JRD on and off. He was the Tata Group chairman And I was merely an engineer. There was nothing that we had in common. I was In awe of him.One day I was waiting for Murthy, my husband, to pick me up after office hours. To my surprise I saw JRD standing next to me. I did not know how to react. Yet again I started worrying about that postcard. Looking back, I realise JRD had forgotten about it. It must have been a small incident for him, but not so for me.“Young lady, why are you here?” he asked. “Office time is over.” I said, “Sir, I’m waiting for my husband to come and pick me up.” JRD said, “It Is getting dark and there’s no one in the corridor.I’ll wait with you till your husband comes.”I was quite used to waiting for Murthy, but having JRD waiting alongside made me extremely uncomfortable.I was nervous. Out of the corner of my eye I looked at him. He wore a simple white pant and shirt. He was old, yet his face was glowing. There wasn’t any air of superiority about him. I was thinking, “Look at this person. He is a chairman, a well-respected man in our country and he is waiting for the sake of an ordinary employee.” Then I saw Murthy and I rushed out. JRD called and said, “Young lady, Tell your husband never to make his wife wait again.” In 1982 I had to resign from my job at Telco. I was reluctant to go, but I really did not have a choice. I was coming down the steps of Bombay House after wrapping up my final settlement when I saw JRD coming up. He was absorbed in thought. I wanted to say goodbye to him, so I stopped. He saw me and paused. Gently, he said, “So what are you doing, Mrs Kulkarni?” (That was the Way he always addressed me.) “Sir, I am leaving Telco.” “Where are you going?” he asked. “Pune, Sir. My husband is starting a company called Infosys and I’m shifting to Pune.”“Oh! And what will you do when you are successful.”“Sir, I don’t know whether we will be successful.”“Never start with diffidence,” he advised me. “Always start with confidence. When you are successful you must give back to society. Society gives us so much; we must reciprocate. I wish you all the best.”Then JRD continued walking up the stairs. I stood there for what seemed like a millennium. That was the last time I saw him alive. Many years later I met Ratan Tata in the same Bombay House, occupying the chair JRD once did. I told him of my many sweet memories of working with Telco. Later, he wrote to me, “It was nice hearing about Jeh from you. The sad part is that he’s not alive to see you today.”I consider JRD a great man because, despite being an extremely busy person, he valued one postcard written by a young girl seeking justice. He must have received thousands of letters everyday. He could have thrown mine away, but he didn’t do that. He respected the intentions of that unknown girl, who had neither influence nor money, and gave her an opportunity in his company. He did not merely give her a job; he changed her life and mindset forever.Close to 50 per cent of the students in today’s engineering colleges are girls. And there are women on the shop floor in many industry segments. I see these changes and I think of JRD. If at all time stops and asks me What I want from life, I would say I wish JRD were alive today to see how the company we started has grown. He would have enjoyed it wholeheartedly. My love and respect for the House of Tata remains undiminished by the passage of time. I always looked up to JRD. I saw him as a role model for his simplicity, his generosity, his kindness and the care he took of his employees. Those blue eyes always reminded me of the sky; they had the same vastness and magnificence.(Sudha Murthy is a widely published writer and chairperson of the Infosys Foundation involved in a number of social development initiatives. Infosys chairman Narayana Murthy is her husband.)(On JRD's death on Nov 29, 1993, the parliament, in an unusual gesture for a private citizen, was adjourned in his memory and Maharashtra declared three days of mourning.)Article sourced from: Lasting Legacies (Tata Review- SpecialCommemorative Issue 2004), brought out by the house of Tatas tocommemorate the 100th birth anniversary of JRD Tata on July 29, 2004.]

THE DUCK STORY

A woman brought a very limp duck to a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird’s chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, “I’m sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away.”The distressed woman wailed, “Are you sure?”“Yes, I am sure…The duck is dead,” replied the vet.“How can you be so sure?” she protested. “I mean you haven’t done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something.”The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck’s owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room.A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook his head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room. The vet looked at the woman and said, “I’m sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck.” The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman. The duck’s owner, still in shock, took the bill. “$150!” she cried, “$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!”The vet shrugged, “I’m sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, But with the Lab report and the Cat scan, it’s now $150.”

Kanaka Dhara Sthothram-for " WEALTH CREATION ' The hymn of the golden shower

Kanaka Dhara Sthothram
From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia
The hymn of the golden shower
By Sri Sankara Bhagavat Pada
Translated by P.R.Ramachander

Adhi Sankara was possibly one of the great saints of his time. He was born in a poor Brahmin family in Kerala. After brahmopadesa, as is usual during those times, he was asked to beg alms for his lunch. One day when he went to a Brahmin house, the lady of the house was so poor that she did not have anything to give him. She searched hard and found one small fruit of gooseberry, which she gave to Sankara. He was so touched by her gesture that he sang these 21 mellifluous hymns on Goddess Lakshmi, who poured golden goose berries as rain to the poor woman’s house.
It is believed that poverty would be banished by singing this hymn.

"Angam hare pulaka bhooshanamasrayanthi,
Bhringanga neva mukulabharanam thamalam,
Angikrithakhila vibhuthirapanga leela,
Mangalyadasthu mama mangala devathaya.," 1

To the Hari who wears supreme happiness as Ornament, The Goddess Lakshmi is attracted,Like the black bees getting attracted,To the unopened buds of black Tamala tree,Let her who is the Goddess of all good things,Grant me a glance that will bring prosperity.

"Mugdha muhurvidhadhadathi vadhane Murare,
Premathrapapranihithani gathagathani,
Mala dhrishotmadhukareeva maheth pale ya,
Sa ne sriyam dhisathu sagarasambhavaya.," 2

Again and again return, those glances,Filled with hesitation and love,Of her who is born to the ocean of milk,To the face of Murari,Like the honey bees to the pretty blue lotus,And let those glances shower me with wealth.

"Ameelithaksha madhigamya mudha Mukundam
Anandakandamanimeshamananga thanthram,
Akekara stiththa kaninika pashma nethram,
Bhoothyai bhavenmama bhjangasayananganaya., " 3

With half closed eyes stares she on Mukunda,Filled with happiness, shyness and the science of love,On the ecstasy filled face with closed eyes of her Lord,And let her, who is the wife of Him who sleeps on the snake, Shower me with wealth.

"Bahwanthare madhujitha srithakausthube ya,
Haravaleeva nari neela mayi vibhathi,
Kamapradha bhagavatho api kadaksha mala,
Kalyanamavahathu me kamalalayaya., " 4

He who has won over Madhu,Wears the Kousthuba as ornament,And also the garland of glances, of blue Indraneela,Filled with love to protect and grant wishes to Him,Of her who lives on the lotus,And let those also fall on me,And grant me all that is good..

"Kalambudhaalithorasi kaida bhare,
Dharaadhare sphurathi yaa thadinganeva,
Mathu samastha jagatham mahaneeya murthy,
Badrani me dhisathu bhargava nandanaya.," 5

Like the streak of lightning in black dark cloud,She is shining on the dark, broad chest,Of He who killed Kaidaba,And let the eyes of the great mother of all universe,Who is the daughter of Sage Bharghava,Fallon me lightly and bring me prosperity.

"Praptham padam pradhamatha khalu yat prabhavath,
Mangalyabhaji madhu madhini manamathena,
Mayyapadetha mathara meekshanardham,
Manthalasam cha makaralaya kanyakaya., " 6

The God of love could only reach,The killer of Madhu,Through the power of her kind glances,Loaded with love and blessingAnd let that side glance ,Which is auspicious and indolent,Fall on me.

"Viswamarendra padhavee bramadhana dhaksham,
Ananda hethu radhikam madhu vishwoapi,
Eshanna sheedhathu mayi kshanameekshanartham,
Indhivarodhara sahodharamidhiraya.," 7

Capable of making one as king of Devas in this world,Her side long glance of a moment,Made Indra regain his kingdom,And is making Him who killed Madhu supremely happy. And let her with her blue lotus eyes glance me a little.

"Ishta visishtamathayopi yaya dhayardhra,
Dhrishtya thravishta papadam sulabham labhanthe,
Hrishtim prahrushta kamlodhara deepthirishtam,
Pushtim krishishta mama pushkravishtaraya., " 8

To her devotees and those who are great,Grants she a place in heaven which is difficult to attain,Just by a glance of her compassion filled eyes,Let her sparkling eyes which are like the fully opened lotus,Fall on me and grant me all my desires.

"Dhadyaddhayanupavanopi dravinambhudaraam,
Asminna kinchina vihanga sisou vishanne,
Dhushkaramagarmmapaneeya chiraya dhooram,
Narayana pranayinee nayanambhuvaha.," 9

Please send your mercy which is like wind,And shower the rain of wealth on this parched land,,And quench the thirst of this little chataka bird,And likewise, drive away afar my load of sins,Oh, darling of Narayana,By the glance from your cloud like dark eyes.

"Gheerdhevathethi garuda dwaja sundarithi,
Sakambhareethi sasi shekara vallebhethi,
Srishti sthithi pralaya kelishu samsthitha ya,
Thasyai namas thribhvanai ka guros tharunyai., " 10

She is the goddess of Knowledge,She is the darling of Him who has Garuda as flag,She is the power that causes of death at time of deluge,And she is the wife of Him who has the crescent,And she does the creation, upkeep and destruction at various times,And my salutations to this lady who is worshipped by all the three worlds.

"Sruthyai namosthu shubha karma phala prasoothyai,
Rathyai namosthu ramaneeya gunarnavayai,
Shakthyai namosthu satha pathra nikethanayai,
Pushtayi namosthu purushotthama vallabhayai.," 11

Salutations to you as Vedas which give rise to good actions,Salutation to you as Rathi for giving the most beautiful qualities,Salutation to you as Shakthi ,who lives in the hundred petalled lotus,And salutations to you who is Goddess of plenty,And is the consort of Purushottama.

"Namosthu naleekha nibhananai,
Namosthu dhugdhogdhadhi janma bhoomayai,
Namosthu somamrutha sodharayai,
Namosthu narayana vallabhayai., " 12

Salutations to her who is as pretty. As the lotus in full bloom,Salutations to her who is born from ocean of milk,Salutations to the sister of nectar and the moon,Salutations to the consort of Narayana.

"Namosthu hemambhuja peetikayai,
Namosthu bhoo mandala nayikayai,
Namosthu devathi dhaya prayai,
Namosthu Sarngayudha vallabhayai.," 13

Salutations to her who has the golden lotus as seat,Salutations to her who is the leader of the universe,Salutations to her who showers mercy on devas,And salutations to the consort of Him who has the bow called Saranga.

"Namosthu devyai bhrugu nandanayai,
Namosthu vishnorurasi sthithayai,
Namosthu lakshmyai kamalalayai,
Namosthu dhamodhra vallabhayai., "14

Salutations to her who is daughter of Bhrigu,Salutations to her lives on the holy chest of Vishnu,Salutations to Goddess Lakshmi who lives in a lotus,And saluations to her who is the consort of Damodhara.

"Namosthu Kanthyai kamalekshanayai,
Namosthu bhoothyai bhuvanaprasoothyai,
Namosthu devadhibhir archithayai,
Namosthu nandhathmaja vallabhayai., " 15

Salutations to her who is light living in Lotus flower,Salutations to her who is the earth and also mother of earth,Salutations to her who is worshipped by Devas,And salutations to her who is the consort of the son of Nanda.

"Sampath karaani sakalendriya nandanani,
Samrajya dhana vibhavani saroruhakshi,
Twad vandanani dhuritha haranodhythani,
Mamev matharanisam kalayanthu manye.," 16

Giver of wealth, giver of pleasures to all senses,Giver of the right to rule kingdoms,She who has lotus like eyes,She to whom Salutations remove all miseries fast,And my mother to you are my salutations.

"Yath Kadaksha samupasana vidhi,
Sevakasya sakalartha sapadha,
Santhanodhi vachananga manasai,
Twaam murari hridayeswareem bhaje., " 17

He who worships your sidelong glances,Is blessed by all known wealth and prosperity,And so my salutations by word, thought and deed,To the queen of the heart of my Lord Murari.

"Sarasija nilaye saroja hasthe,
Dhavalathamamsuka gandha maya shobhe,
Bhagavathi hari vallabhe manogne,
Tribhuvana bhoothikari praseeda mahye., "18

She who sits on the Lotus,She who has lotus in her hands,She who is dressed in dazzling white,She who shines in garlands and sandal paste,The Goddess who is the consort of Hari,She who gladdens the mind,And she who confers prosperity on the three worlds,Be pleased to show compassion to me.

"Dhiggasthibhi kanaka kumbha mukha vasrushta,
Sarvahini vimala charu jalaapluthangim,
Prathar namami jagathaam janani masesha,
Lokadhinatha grahini mamrithabhi puthreem.," 19

Those eight elephants from all the diverse directions,Pour from out from golden vessels,The water from the Ganga which flows in heaven,For your holy purifying bath,And my salutations in the morn to you,Who is the mother of all worlds,Who is the house wife of the Lord of the worlds,And who is the daughter of the ocean which gave nectar.

"Kamale Kamalaksha vallabhe twam,
Karuna poora tharingithaira pangai,
Avalokaya mamakinchananam,
Prathamam pathamakrithrimam dhyaya., "20

She who is the Lotus,She who is the consort,Of the Lord with Lotus like eyes,She who has glances filled with mercy,Please turn your glance on me,Who is the poorest among the poor,And first make me the vessel,To receive your pity and compassion.

"Sthuvanthi ye sthuthibhirameeranwaham,
Thrayeemayim thribhuvanamatharam ramam,
Gunadhika guruthara bhagya bhagina,
Bhavanthi the bhuvi budha bhavithasayo.," 21

He who recites these prayers daily,On her who is personification of Vedas,On her who is the mother of the three worlds,On her who is Goddess Rema,Will be blessed without doubt,With all good graceful qualities,With all the great fortunes that one can get,And would live in the world,With great recognition from even the learned.

Ayurveda, the traditional 'science of life', has a remedy for diseases when every other stream of medicine fails. Now, at a time when swine flu is spreading like wildfire across the world, Ayurveda has the remedy in the form of the miraculous herb, the basil leaves commonly known as Tulsi.

Tulsi, the purest and most sublime plant, has been known and worshipped in India for more than five millennia for its remarkable healing properties. Considered as an 'Elixir of Life', this wonder herb has now been claimed to keep the deadly swine flu at bay and help fast recovery in afflicted persons.

"The anti-flu property of Tulsi has been discovered by medical experts across the world quite recently. Tulsi improves the body's overall defence mechanism including its ability to fight viral diseases. It was successfully used in combating Japanese Encephalitis and the same theory applies to swine flu," Dr U K Tiwari, a herbal medicine practitioner says.

Apart from acting as a preventive medicine in case of swine flu, Tulsi can help the patient recover faster.

"Even when a person has already contracted swine flu, Tulsi can help in speeding up the recovery process and also help in strengthening the immune system of the body," he claims.
Dr Bhupesh Patel, a lecturer at Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar is also of the view that Tulsi can play an important role in controlling swine flu.

"Tulsi can control swine flu and it should be taken in fresh form. Juice or paste of at least 20-25 medium sized leaves should be consumed twice a day on an empty stomach." This increases the resistance of the body and, thereby, reduces the chances of inviting swine flu," believes Patel.
As its name suggests, Tulsi has again proved to be the 'the incomparable' medicine - this time, in the prevention and cure of swine flu.

The symptoms of the H1N1 flu virus in people are similar to the symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with novel H1N1 flu virus also have reported diarrhea and vomiting. The high risk groups for novel H1N1 flu are not known at this time, but it's possible that they may be the same as for seasonal influenza. However, Please consult a practitioner in case of any such symptoms. Doctors have strictly advised against self medication.

KNOWLEDGE

King Bhoj was a worshipper of the Goddess Saraswti. He believed in scholarship, not of the king that stays buried in books, but the kind that strives relentlessly to extend the limits of human knowledge. In his court, the greatest honour was accorded to learning and the people who pursued it. He himself was well-versed in language and grammar, poetry, sculpture, architecture, science and engineering, astrology, music, theatre and the highest questions of ethics and philosophy.

Once, Bhoj went walking out in the countryside with a very learned scholar from a neighbouring kingdom. As they walked both were deeply immersed in literary and philosophical discussion. This caused them to lose their way. Arriving at a village where an old woman was tending her field, they stopped and asked, “Respected mother, where does this road go ?”

”The road does not go anywhere. It stays here. Only the people who walk along it will go somewhere. So tell me, who are you ?” , said the woman in response. “We are travellers”, they replied.

The old woman smiled.
”Travellers! there are only two. The sun and the moon. Tell me truly, who are you ?”
”Sister, we are guests”, said the scholar.
”Guests! there are only two. One is wealth and the other is youth. Now tell me which are you ?” said the old woman.
”We are kings”, said king Bhoj.
“There are only two kings. One is Indra (king of gods) the other is Yama (god of death). Tell me now, which one are you ?” enquired the old woman.
King Bhoj and his companion were by now truly astonished.
”We… we are two of great ability”, they said.
”There are only two of great ability”, said the woman. “One is the earth, the other is woman. But you look neither of them. Say now, who are you?”
”Sister…. we are sadhus(holy men)”, said king Bhoj, getting desperate.
”You do not look like Sadhus to me”, said the woman nodding her head in disagreement.
“Anyway, sadhus there are only two”, she went on, “One is modesty, the other contentment”.
Now the scholar pluked courage and spoke up. “Sister, we are pardesi”(not the local people, migrants)
But the woman would have none of it. “Perdesi you are not”, she said. “Only the soul and the leaf of a tree can be pardesi. Now , who are you ?”
The King and the scholar were becoming increasingly lost for words in the face of the woman’s astonishing replies. But how could they admit defeat in a duel of words with a mere old woman?
It was the scholar’s turn to say something. “Sister… we are clever”, he said.
“There are only two clever things in this world grain and water. Which one are you?” Countered the old woman.
At this, both king Bhoj and the visiting scholar groaned and said, “We are defeated”.
“There are only two defeated people in the world”, said the woman. “One is a man burdened with debt, the other is the father of a girlwithout good qualities. Why do you not tell me truthfully, who are you?”
Throwing up their hands in despair, king Bhoj and the scholar said, “What can we say, sister? The truth is, we seem to know nothing. It is you who know it all”.
At these words the face of the old woman broke into a smile then she turned serious in a kind and soothing voice she said, “Both of you have become too proud of your wealth and learning. I knew right from the beginning that you are king Bhoj and he is your scholarly guest. This was my way of bringing you back to earth. Go along this path”, she gestured, “That is the way back to Dhar”.
The king and the scholar bowed deeply to the poor old woman who had helped open their eyes to their own faults. They had much to think about on their way home.

"The real source of knowledge is not the books in the library, but what one can glean through reading the Book of Life”.

THE HELL AND HEAVEN

The hell and heaven are not geographically exist somewhere, it is infact exist nowhere. It just exists within each one of us. The human mind is capable of creating the hell or heaven within himself or herself. So the hell or heaven are not geographical, it is just mere a psychological phenomenon. The mind within the individual is having the potentiality of creating the hell or heaven unto oneself or for others around.

The individual carry the hell or heaven like a hut where ever he/she may move, no matter how good or bad the new place may be, the individual is only having the choice to choose the life and live accordingly. So just be aware what type of hut you are carrying on your head! The choice is purely yours.

Do not bother to be a Begger in life; But think and live like a King.
(Being a King and living like a begger means, you are creating a hell in your life by your ownself,So, " change your Attitude that changes your Life")

Why humanity needs a Sadguru more than ever?

The modern man is at cross roads today. On the one hand unprecedented advance in science and technology has made life more comfortable and enjoyable. On the other hand greed, competition, jealousy and insecurity are threatening to tear the modern man apart.

Religion is individual, one has to seek it on one's own. It is not a social phenomenon, it has nothing to do with the crowd and the collective. It is a private thing, as intimate as love.

In one of His discourses Osho quotes Guru Nanak: "by the guru's grace"? Is not man's own labor enough? It is necessary to understand this very subtle point, because Nanak stresses the guru a great deal. Later Nanak says that without the guru God cannot be attained. What is the reason for this? If God is omnipresent why can't I meet Him directly? What is the need to bring in the guru?”

Osho adds, “There is no need of a guru -- provided you are capable of annihilating your ego yourself.”

“The greater your insensitivity, the more somnolent you are, the greater your need for a guru. Understand that. If you are fast asleep, how can you awaken yourself? Someone else will have to shake you. Even then the chances are that you will roll over and fall back asleep again.”

A Master simply teaches how to be alert with full consciousness. He teaches conscious awareness.

Osho says, there are two types of Masters in the world. The first type is the teacher. He teaches disciplines, virtue, character, but next day the student forgets. The second is the Master. He does not teach any virtue, he does not teach any character, he does not teach any ordinary humility, humbleness. He bores a hole into the being of the disciple so that light can penetrate, and the disciple can see for himself. The master tries to make one aware, full of light. That's the real Master. In the East we call him SADGURU, the right Master. Teachers are many; Sadgurus are very few and far between.

“If you are with a teacher you may become a good man, but you cannot become enlightened. And your goodness will always remain on a volcano; it can erupt any moment. If you are with a teacher he will teach you outward things -- how to discipline yourself, how to be good, how to be a servant, how to serve people, how to be non-violent, how to be loving, kind, compassionate. He will teach you a thousand and one things.

If you come to a Master, he teaches only one thing -- that is: how to become aware, how to bore a hole into your being so light can enter into your imprisonment. And in that light, everything starts happening of its own accord.
And when things happen of their own accord, they have a beauty to them. Then there is great benediction.”
OSHO

MICHAEL JACKSON- "FROM CHILD STAR TO POP MEGA STAR'

"Man in the Mirror" -Music video

Michael Jackson, the child star turned King of Pop who set the world dancing but whose musical genius was overshadowed by a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals, died on Thursday. He was 50.Jackson was pronounced dead at about 2:26 p.m. PDT (2126 GMT) after arriving at a Los Angeles hospital in full cardiac arrest, said Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office. The cause of death was not known and an autopsy would likely take place on Friday, he said.Jackson's sudden death had been reported earlier by U.S. media, which said he was taken ill at his home and rushed to the hospital by paramedics who found him not breathing when they arrived.Known as the "King of Pop," for hits that included "Thriller" and "Billie Jean," Jackson's dramatic, one-gloved stage presence and innovative dance moves were imitated by legions of fans around the world.
He transformed music videos and his lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, which, added to the 13 Grammy Awards he received, made him one of the most successful entertainers of all time.
But Jackson's belief that "I am Peter Pan in my heart", his preference for the company of children, his friendship with a chimp, his high-pitched voice and numerous plastic surgeries also earned him critics and the nickname "Wacko Jacko."Jackson, who had lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation, had been scheduled to launch a comeback tour from London next month.Quincy Jones, who helped arrange the music on the album "Thriller" and produced the "Off the Wall" album, told MSNBC: "I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news.""For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words. I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

SOLD-OUT SHOWS

Jackson had been due to start a series of concerts in London on July 13 running until March 2010. The singer had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months. The shows for the 50 London concerts sold out within minutes of going on sale in March."Rarely has the world received a gift with the magnitude of artistry, talent, and vision as Michael Jackson," said Neil Portnow, president and CEO of The Recording Academy in a statement."He was a true musical icon whose identifiable voice, innovative dance moves, stunning musical versatility, and sheer star power carried him from childhood to worldwide acclaim."There were concerns about Jackson's health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a 4-1/2 hour physical examination with independent doctors.Outside the hospital in Los Angeles about 200 fans and reporters gathered on Thursday, waiting for confirmation of Jackson's death or condition. Some fans were crying and hugging each other, and others were climbing atop fences to get a better look at a microphone stand where a news conference was supposed to take place."I hope he's gone to God, and I hope that he's free of all the troubles he's been plagued with," Tonya Blazer, 50, who said she had been a fan going back more than four decades to his days as a child star."I just feel like I'm paying tribute to him," said Dawn Burgess, 42, a fan who said she had posters of Michael pinned to her bedroom wall when she was a child.
Jackson was born on Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, the seventh of nine children. Five Jackson boys -- Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael -- first performed together at a talent show when Michael was 6. They walked off with first prize and went on to become a best-selling band, The Jackson Five, and then The Jackson 5.Jackson made his first solo album in 1972, and released "Thriller" in 1982, which became a smash hit that yielded seven top-10 singles. The album sold 21 million copies in the United States and at least 27 million worldwide. The next year, he unveiled his signature "moonwalk" dance move while performing "Billie Jean" during an NBC special. In 1994, Jackson married Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe the same year and had two children, before splitting in 1999. The couple never lived together.Jackson has three children named Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, known for his brief public appearance when his father held him over the railing of a hotel balcony, causing widespread criticism.New Yorkers and tourists in the city's Times Square were shocked at the news of Jackson's death."I don't know what to say. It's sad, it's really, really sad," said Nicole Smith, an 18-year-old student from Brooklyn, New York, in Times Square. "My mother was a fan. I listened to his music.""I'm shocked. I thought someone was lying to me when I first heard it. I was a fan from when he was a little boy and then he got weird," said Sue Sheider, 51, a teacher from Long Island.(Additional Reporting by Jill Serjeant in Los Angeles and Michelle Nichols in New York)

People watch news tickets in Times Square report that Michael Jackson had died.

CIVILIZATION

Affection with reflection;
Condition of mind When mind is out of condition.
In short, a mental sensation;
A sensational emotion;
And an emotional compassion;
A chemical reaction;
A biological production;
And a physical experimentation;
An impossible explanation;
But history has its own elucidation For this heavenly possession;
A simple expectation In every human's reverberations;
It is God's creation;
And his best presentation To the human civilization!!!!!!

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

"ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its
memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers
belong to our closest family or friends.

If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people
attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to
call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the
contact person in case of an emergency?
Hence this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign

The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact
during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the
majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of
a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency
under the name "ICE" ( In Case Of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to
the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with
patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore
thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally
recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency
Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact
the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as
"ICE."

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A
great idea that will make a difference!

Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile
phones today!

Please forward this. It won't take too many "forwards" before
everybody will know about this It really could save your life, or put
a loved one's mind at rest ..

ICE will speak for you when you are not able to

Millionaires in the making: The Rodrigueses

(Money Magazine) — John and Gina Rodrigues have always been good with numbers.
John is a software engineer who manages a team at Microsoft, and Gina spent years processing mortgages at Wells Fargo and Countrywide Home Loans. But the numbers they are especially good at are the kind with dollar signs in front of them.

At age 27, John and Gina already earn a combined $174,000 a year, save half of what they make and have built a formidable portfolio of $380,000 in stocks, mutual funds and cash. Their goal: to become millionaires and retire by the time they turn 40, just 13 years from now.

To make that dream a reality, they have become black-belt practitioners of an art rarely practiced in America these days: While others with their earning power might indulge in fancy dinners, luxury vacations and designer wardrobes, the Rodrigueses live like young couples did before the era of easy credit. They rent the house where John grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area for a mere $650 a month; rarely travel; split an entrée on the rare occasions they eat out; and spend almost nothing on clothes (John wears free Microsoft T-shirts, while Gina gets hand-me-downs from her sister).

They are driven by a fierce determination to control their own fate. John yearns to quit his job to indulge his passion for the outdoors, and Gina plans to cut back her hours at the boutique they own to work with animals and, possibly, raise a family.

Can the couple do it? The outcome depends on the answers to three key questions: Will they be able to keep up their spartan lifestyle? (Anxious for a home of their own, they are now shopping for a house in one of the priciest areas of the country.) Will they invest wisely? (Among their goofs so far: They snatched up three properties near the height of the real estate bubble.) And even if they do, is 13 years really enough time to amass the huge sums required to retire at 40 - enough money to last them for the ensuing 50 to 60 years?

UNIVERSE ORGIN - ATHEISM Vs THEISM

Origin of the Universe - Theism vs. Atheism

In general, theists attribute the origin of the universe to some sort of transcendent, intelligent Designer. Atheists envision a natural, undirected process by which universes spring into existence spontaneously. Prior to the 20th century most atheists believed the universe was eternal. This changed however as discoveries throughout the 20th Century rendered that view untenable. Einstein’s theory of gravity (which has been thoroughly validated by extensive experimental confirmation) and Hubble’s astronomical observations preclude an eternal universe. We now know beyond a reasonable doubt that the universe began at some point in the finite past. Now we understand that there are only two legitimate options for the origin of the universe:

(1) Someone made the universe (Intelligent Design), or
(2) The universe made itself (Random Chance).

The third option, the universe has always been here, is no longer a feasible alternative — it contradicts empirical science. No other scientifically plausible theories for the origin of the universe have ever been proposed. The implications of various 20th century discoveries have put atheists in an awkward position. Logic now requires that they identify an uncontrolled mechanism by which the universe could have initiated, designed, created and developed itself without an Intelligent Director. Otherwise, intellectual honesty requires the necessity of a Creator God.

Origin of the Universe - The Big Bang Theory

So began the effort to propose an atheistic mechanism for the origin of the universe. Enter the Big Bang Theory and Darwinian Evolution. The original Big Bang Theory seeks to explain the sudden appearance of everything from nothing, while Darwinian Evolution seeks to explain the origin of complex life forms from their supposed simpler ancestors. The premise of the Big Bang is that the entire universe was compacted into a teeny tiny little ball, which, after randomly coming into existence for no apparent reason in the first place, exploded into all space, time, matter and energy in an instant. Yes, that’s the theory. No Ph.D. required.
Origin of the Universe - The Inflation Universe Theories
The Big Bang Theory provided an atheistic explanation for the origin of the universe, but its obvious simplicity was subject to multiple attacks. As a result, the original theory is no longer the dominant scientific explanation for the atheistic origin of the universe. While the original Big Bang Theory is now “dead,” from its ashes have emerged the various Inflationary Universe Theories (IUTs). Starting with Alan Guth in the late 1990’s (The Inflationary Universe: The Quest for a New Theory of Cosmic Origins), the scientific community has now proposed roughly 50 different IUT variants. Scientists hope that one of the current IUTs will sire an accurate reconstruction of the birth of our universe, though it is universally acknowledged that all of the current IUTs have their problems. It seems the only way to get realistic calculations to match an IUT model is to make assumptions that are poorly justified.
Origin of the Universe - Post “Bang” Problems
The IUTs are essentially no better an attempt to explain the origin of the universe without God than the Big Bang. The primary differences between the IUTs and the original Big Bang Theory are really pre-bang explanations. What happened just prior to the explosion? What happened during the first millisecond of the explosion? For instance, some of the IUTs have included a concept called the ‘epoch of inflation’ to explain the dynamic first millisecond after the Bang. However, the basic premise of all these theory variants is the same — the universe was compacted into a little cosmic ball that subsequently exploded with a big bang into everything that exists today. Thus, the IUTs share the same post-bang problems that plague the original Big Bang Theory. These problems include violations of established Natural Laws, such as:

(i) The Law of Causality (observed effects require a related cause),

(ii) The Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum (observed phenomena like retrograde motion in our solar system are impossible without an intervening cause), and

(iii) The Laws of Thermodynamics (Conservation of Matter/energy and Increased Entropy). In addition, the Big Bang/iUTs are unable to explain a limitless list of other issues related to cosmological, chemical, stellar, planetary and biological causation, order and design. Where did all that matter and energy come from in the first place? What caused its initial release? How did this explosion of everything (from nothing) order itself? How can simplicity become complexity? Where did the chemical elements come from? Where did the mathematical laws and physical properties come from? How do we explain the fine-tuning inherent in spiral galaxies, solar systems and stars? How do you explain the existence of both voids and clumps in our cosmos? Where did the first rock come from? How did life come from a rock? Where did the information code for all biologic forms come from? Where did the language convention that interprets that code come from?…

Origin of the Universe - Long Ago and Far Away…
Attempts to exclude a Creator from the “origin of the universe equation” have been long on theoretical calculations and short on common sense. The various models merely move the questions of where, why and how did everything get here to “long ago and far away.” Atheists are tenacious in their efforts to ignore the necessity of a First Cause, Intelligent Designer, Creator God. But as Aldous Huxley put it so eloquently, “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.” And it seems that atheists must ignore a great deal in order to maintain their atheistic cosmogonic position. Is the entire universe really the result of an accidental explosion of nothing? Is the design and irreducible complexity of all living systems really the result of random chance? Where is the so-called “evolutionary mechanism”? 21st century “science” has declared that anything sounding “supernatural” is entirely off limits. Yet, by common sense definition, “science” based on the Big Bang and IUTs must suspend and/or violate established natural laws. In effect, atheistic science must use “supernatural” means to justify its atheistic presupposition. Prior to the last 150 years, and the recent campaign to exclude God in the scientific fields, scientists as a general rule believed in God. As a matter of fact, the founders of a majority of the scientific disciplines were Theists. These men took pride in the idea that they were “thinking God’s thoughts after Him.” Please consider these final thoughts… If everything is an accident, there’s no reason to figure anything out. If everything is futile, purpose is an imaginary concept. But if everything was created, and if everything has a purpose, shouldn’t it be the underlying goal of all mankind to discover that Creator and find that purpose?
